About

Karin Olsson

Karin lives in Crescent Beach, BC, and paints in acrylics. It was the opportunity to study drawing and painting during a sabbatical year in 2007 that reignited her childhood’s passion for drawing and painting, motivating early retirement to have more time for art.

She is inspired by scenes both natural and developed. Places that keep insipiring her include the ocean, local (Crescent Beach) and rain coast beaches, Galiano’s Arbutus trees, deer and small coves, Sweden, the Lake District (UK) and the cities and smaller towns of Southern Europe. She also enjoys portrait painting of people and animals.

When the weather and scenery allows she enjoys painting Plein Air, both locally and on visits to the Gulf Islands and the Pacific Rim National Park.

She frequently takes part in local exhibitions and regularly participates in the Bayview Arts Makers Market Tour in Crescent Beach. She also exhibits occasionally at the Sunflower Cafe, Beecher Street, Crescent Beach and with a number of other artists at the Blue Cottage in White Rock. Her work is represented by Wild Moon and Star in Fort Langley.
